A Clinical Study on the Correlation between the Menstrual Cycle and the Time of Admission in General Hospital

Abstract

|
91 female patients admitted in National Medical Center other than neuropsy-chiatry department were randomly selected during April and august 1977.
These are analyzed into groups according to the seven-four days period of each menstrual cycle and the time of admission.
The most high admission rate appeared during the last seven-four days period as 36.3%, the second high rate during the sixth-four days period as 18.7% and the third high rank during the fourth-four days period (mid-cycle) as 16.5%. The lowest admission rate was in the first-four days period (menstrual period) as 3.3%.
These result may support that the premenstrual tension plays an important role for a woman to the motivational factor of hospital admission with various ailments.
